HOLIDAY! Writing that word makes me wish I was on one. A month before i booked this holiday trip, I’d been browsing various sites to get a rough estimate on costs et al. But it was a lie. I realized that the costs displayed on most travel sites are actually per person sharing. Other sites have deals that are only accessible in groups of about 5, which they only tell you when you are ready to book. A particular site had an amazing spa deal at KES 6,500 for various treatments. In the description box, they further went to list about 10 treatments included in this ‘deal’! Upon trying to book the sweet deal, I found out that the displayed price was actually the cheapest spa treatment! You know what they say, when the deal is too sweet, think twice. This city has little to offer for single folk looking for a solo holiday or so I thought till i stumbled upon: Jovago.com !
I’d been frequently hearing a few ads on Capital fm promoting the said site. I have a strong passion for online businesses an was happy to test if it really is as good as they sell themselves. My favorite feature from Jovago.com from the start is the ability to choose how many adults you are, so the price you see is what you would end up paying.
I started by viewing hotel offers from my location of choice, and proceeded to choosing a hotel with the highest rating. This was what they offered:
I called the Jovago.com customer care number, and Ruth strongly recommended the location, further telling me about the flower farm tour. (Thank you Ruth) Booking was as easy as pie. They also offer payment by Mpesa, which every online business in Kenya ought to have. I was also able to get KES 14,000 off because I had a voucher code! 🙂
I promptly received a confirmation email, and a few minutes later, an email thanking me for booking and giving me another discount!
